Grip Force

My son was kind enough to buy me a pair at the ASC. They're basically a thick rubber grip that goes around the bar. You then grip over them and perform your chosen exercise. It's like "thick bar" training. I used them today for the first time and I'm having trouble typing this! Forearm Hell! Good product.

Hey Bob,
I've been using Fat Gripz for two months and have put a quarter inch on my arms!! I thought they were exaggerating by claims of upper arm growth as well as forearms, but they were not.
Mine slip around with Ez bar but that gives me the mother of all pumps just the same. I only need to do Ez bar standing curls for 4 sets, then incline DB curls (bench very low), and I get DOMS in the Bi's for three days!!! I used to find it near impossible to get DOMS in the Bi's.
Great for tri's too.
You can't really use them on big pulling or rowing exercises as you're grip will fail before your back.
Isn't it amazing how much heavier a DB feels with them on? Undecided  Smiley

Speaking of grip development and strength, I bet most Iron Agers here know what a hand dynamometer is: It's that instrument that measures gripping power and is found in every physical therapy office in the world.

Dynamometers should be hanging on a chain bolted to the wall of every weight room to test the grips of bodybuilders/lifters.....I think iron guys would get killed by trademen, bricklayers, cement finishers, etc. I envision gym wagers and challenges issued between lifters as to who could pull the highest number.

Undecided

Terry

Once again your observations are right on the Mark.  My father in his younger years was a plumber and those old jungeleiters had grips that were incredible.  But my Father almost fell over when my Uncle Artur, a bookeeper, gripped a l1/2 black sch #40 pipe in one hand and cut it with an old pipe cutter with his other hand.  Artur was 6'8" and had hands like a baseball glove.  In addition he was one of the kindest guys around not like a lot of the others who shall we say were usually "brutsich" (grouchy) at least to this young boy at the time.

Bob:

Thanks for posting the URL.

I was able to easily find the sites for Fat Gripz, EZ Grips, Tyler Grips, etc. but the site for the product you mentioned eluded me. I was using "Grip Force" as search parameters.

Grip 4orce! DOH!
