Smith Machine question

When One is useing a smith machine for say squats and You put a 45lss plate on each end is it 90lbs or do You consider it a 135lbs set ?

Depending on the machine....You have to consider the weight of the bar and what the glides weigh?

I only ever write down the weight on one side of the smith machine or even a barbell since its easier to load them on that way.

The only thing that matters is that the load increases over time.

With some Smith machines you get the weight of the bar,  although it's not always a proper Olympic bar.  And with others the bar weighs nothing because of counter weights.

I agree with JWB, although for the record, my bar weighs 35 lbs and there are no counterweights, so I include the bar.
