I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

the two exercises that I was best at were chin/pullups and dips. I could do both for reps, and built up to doing dips with an additional 90 lbs of weight. I also would do pullups with 25 extra pounds.
Way back in the stone ages when I was a graduate student at the Univ. of Florida, I was also teaching a few undergraduate classes.
I would challenge the class-if anyone could do more pullups then me, I would give them an automatic A for the class. (as an undergrad I had a professor who was a ranked amature racketball player--he challenged the class, anyone who could beat him got an automatic A).
One time one of my students did 23 pullups....I managed to do 24...

Wide overhand grip 12 reps and with an underhand grip I can get 15 reps. I did do dips yesterday with and extra #180 on my belt along with my own #210 for 3 full reps. That is my main chest exercise now as I can no longer bench due to bad shoulders.

I could knock out dips like a banshee.
Pullups are brutal for me and I needed to use the leverage assist mechanism.

I only do front pull ups.
20 reps for the first set. I weight 200 lbs.
Before pull ups i warm up my triceps by doing push ups.

I can do 20 wide grip chins with full range of motion, chin over bar then all the way down. But I get the most out of not to wide a grip chins with palms facing me. Done the sameway as wide grip chins, but i can only get 14 or 15 reps this way.

I have witnessed Intenseman do dips 10 X bodyweight plus 245 on dips followed by a rapid 30 X bodyweight. I do not doubt his chins.
At age 46 I tried to beat LaLannes 27 palms forward 'full extension ' bodyweight chins. Record at the time. I failed at 25. I dipped bodyweight plus 90 X 10 at the time.
Today at 70 I dip bodyweight plus 75 pounds X 10 and chins limited to about 10 due to pain in left Brach/forearm.

Lets start with wide grip- behind the neck- chin up...... Yesterday I managed to do 16 consecutive reps.....with full range of motion. What about you guys? ?? Watch my little video clip here with chins and dips with 45 pound plates and 50 pound dumbells clamped between my legs, no chain or belt to hold them, full up and full down. In my prime I did a single 170 pound dip using two 85 pound dumbells hanging on me, the biggest we had at the Ravenswood Y. Also was good back then for six full pull-ups with that 85 pounder between my knees. And as always, no weenie partials...all the way up, and all the way down every time. Here's a bit of it off a videocam: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/318711/2120124or http://video.yahoo.com/watch/139770 Terry - In a nut shell HARD CORE!
