i know doug hepburn was supposed to be the first person to bench press 500 lbs and reg park soon after became the second, but who were the first 12 guys to bench press 400, i ask this because of the advert in the old iron man mags for the bill anton bench press courses. somehow he knew he was the 13 th guy to bench press 400 lbs. just wonder who the first 12 were?

Personally don't think I could have done that many sets without overtraining as a beginner.The basic program is sound though.And by the way it took me almost ten years of steady training to bench that much, was weak as a kitten when I started.
