Remember years ago after Platz's retirement he tried to launch a mail order training business with Costa? I would receive stuff in the mail offering courses and guidance much as seen in this ad on the thread.

Pages and pages of claims, and zero mention of the drug regime you'd need to achieve similar results.

Seems like that business endeavor with Costa, as well as Tom's business with McMahon and the World Bodybuilding Association both failed to evolve. I think Joe W. was a bit wary of Tom even before his 'betrayal' with the WBA, and viewed Platz as a business competitor.

Tom always mentioned in interviews that he studied business in college, and intended to get wealthy after his competition. He was never the one to be happy just hanging out at the gym, working out in his dotage, like Ed Guliani, Draper, etc.

Tom was on the make, ambitious like Arnold.
